The Sexton was a self-propelled artillery vehicle used by the British and Canadian forces during World War II. The Sexton II GPO (Gun Position Officer) variant played a crucial role in providing mobile artillery support and effectively coordinating artillery fire. Developed to replace the less versatile Bishop, the Sexton mounted the reliable 25-pounder gun on a Ram or Grizzly tank chassis, combining mobility with substantial firepower. This vehicle was essential in the successful execution of artillery operations in various theaters of the war, including the North African Campaign and the liberation of Europe.
