The RAM Kangaroo was born out of necessity in 1944 when Allied forces needed a way to transport infantry safely across the battlefield. Originally based on the chassis of the RAM tank, these APCs had their turrets removed to create an armored, tracked transport. They were first used in combat by the Canadians and British, proving highly effective at keeping troops protected while advancing under fire. The Kangaroo concept was so successful that it influenced post-war armored personnel carriers, making it a key innovation in mechanized warfare.
